It's our shout & we're buying you a wonderful, tasty lunch at the Sovereign Resort Hotel in Cooktown. Wow, fresh Tiger Prawns or maybe locally caught Coral Trout & more! That's right, an oustanding lunch overlooking Cooktown's waterfront. All included!! How good is that!

​Q Who is the tour guide?

Your professional tour guide is Cathy, a long-time North Queensland local with over 30 years’ experience in the tourism industry. Raised on a cattle station and deeply connected to the region, Cathy has travelled extensively through Australia, the South Pacific (including Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands), the Middle East, Africa and Europe. She brings extensive knowledge of the Cairns to Cooktown route and its landscapes, history and culture, and is passionate about creating memorable, high-quality experiences that guests will be talking about long after the day ends.​

A Truly Scenic Route

Once we leave the Northern Beaches of Cairns, we travel North towards Port Douglas on what is a truly scenic coastal road. The views of the Coral Sea along this part of our journey are awesome.
  • Pass through the pretty sugar producing town of Mossman and stop for morning tea of scones with jam
  • Cross the mighty Daintree River by ferry
  • Enjoy the lush, tropical, ancient Daintree Rainforest, and look for Cassowaries
  • Visit where "the rainforest meets the reef" & enjoy a stroll on a secluded beach
  • Having left Cape Tribulation, we're now ready to tackle the iconic 4WD Bloomfield Track!
  • Encounter creek crossings, inclines, declines whilst taking in the stunning scenery along the way
  • Follow the Bloomfield River before we cross it at Wujal Wujal, certainly worth a photo!
  • Visit the legendary 1875 Lions Den Hotel for a well deserved "coldy"! 
  • Finally, the charming, historic township of Cooktown, nestled between the mouth of the Endeavour River and Grassy Hill with Mt Cook as the backdrop.
  • Admire Captain Cook's monument on the bank of the Endeavour River.
  • During our time in beautiful Cooktown, aside from seeing the sights, you'll be treated to an enjoyable, tasty lunch at the Sovereign Resort Hotel whilst taking in the stunning waterfont view, then you can choose to visit the Cooktown's newest state of art tourist attraction, the Waalmbal Birri Heritage & Culture Centre (admission not included in tour cost).

By the way, do you know what the floral emblem of the State of Queensland is?  You got it, the Cooktown Orchid!

  • Via the inland, outback route
  • Stop at the mysterious Black Mountain
  • Passing through Lakeland Downs 
  • Call into Australia's richest alluvial gold fields at Palmer River
  • Take in the stunning views from the Desailly Range
  • Pass through Mt Carbine
  • Enjoy the lush green tropics as we cross the Range
